Thank you for your interest in joining our team through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge program. We are proud to support transitioning service members as they bridge the gap between military service and civilian careers.
What is the SkillBridge program?
It is a DoW initiative that allows active-duty service members to participate in civilian job training, apprenticeships, or internships during their final 180 days of military service.
Who is eligible to apply?
Active-duty service members from any branch who have completed at least 180 continuous days of active duty, are within 180 days of their official separation/retirement date and have obtained written approval from their military commander.
How long do these opportunities last?
Our SkillBridge programs last between 60 to 180 days, depending on the specific role and your command's approved timeline.
How do I support myself during the program?
The DoW continues to provide your full military salary, medical benefits, and allowances (including housing allowance/BAH) for the entire duration of your SkillBridge cohort.
Are relocation costs covered?
No. All travel, lodging, and relocation expenses required to participate in our SkillBridge opportunities are the responsibility of the service member.
Is a full-time job guaranteed at the end of the program?
While we design our programs with a strong intent to hire, employment is not automatically guaranteed. Full-time offers depend on your performance, cultural fit, and our business needs at the end of your cohort.
What happens if I receive a job offer before my military exit date?
If we extend a full-time offer, your start date as a paid civilian employee will typically begin the day immediately following your official military separation date.
What do I need to provide during the application process?
You will need to submit a civilian-formatted resume and your tentative separation timeline. Before your start date, you must provide your official, signed Command Approval Letter.
Bring your commitment forward.
